Goodbye Brendan

We got the sad news recently that Brendan Leddy passed away. I got to know Brendan when he moved from the East Coast and was going to school to become an engineer. I think Brendan was probably the most talented skater I'd ever met. Soft spoken and a unique sense of humor. I was fortunate enough to have quite a few memorable skate sessions and conversations with him.

While sharing Brendan stories recently, Stephen Figueira reminded me of the time Brendan was asking him specific questions about three dimensional vector physics homework in between skating. Stephan was completely lost, then Brendan proceeded to just tear apart those ledges. Being there for that one still cracks me up.

Here's a little montage of his footage I had. Lots of good memories.

Brendan's "Short Ends" part is unreal. I specifically remember going to his house in Morro Bay and punishing him with questions about this vid. How it was shot, what it was like to film the part, etc. This part and video has such a good feel to it.

\Here's some footage of Brendan from 2002. Note that giant hubba he kickflip noseslid was the same spot Heath Kirchart grinded just a year or so prior to this. Love the skating on the ice footage.

Lastly, here's some raw clips that were recently uploaded from someone. Once again, it's unbelievable how talented Brendan was on a board. We'll miss you!!!
