This was always my favorite part in the video. Kris had original tricks and a sense of improvisation that I really enjoyed watching. I would see him struggle for a single trick and take the hardest slams, but when he got it, he would land another 4 to 5 tricks in a line. I was there for the five-o 180 at Morro Bay park and originally he was just going for straight five-o but in a spur of the moment Kris just decided to go 180 and landed it. I would have to say Kris was my favorite local skater and kinda the guy I tried to emulate. Not trying to fan out too hard here, but this dude was rad.
Also I've got a free Jazzpush shirt for anybody who can send me proof of kickfliping the gap at 1:49. It's at Monarch Elementary in Los Osos.
I remember Tristan was the first person to set me straight at the old Los Osos park. I cut him off and he made sure to let me know. I was there for that tre flip tail grab and he had them every try. Pat Donnelly gets nutty with a barefoot frontside flip and Nick Walters gets a trick.
It looks like next week we'll continue "Another Year" with one of my all time favorite video parts.
