Intermission

Taking an intermission from the Jazzpush Video...

After a long await, "I Thought We Were Bros" is being released in parts online. Check it out and subscribe to Phat Pile.

They made another awesome montage of recent footage.

Stephen Figueira just uploaded some extra clips he filmed when working on the video. We used the HD as throwaway and kept the shaky VX. I have to admit, these looked pretty good for HD.

Another Jazzpush part on Friday.

The Jazzpush Video - Mikey Weber

Here is Mr. Militant himself, Mikey Weber. That triple set kickflip is no joke! Terrible run up, terrible landing, and going off the curb. I also remember another Sunnyside roof guy!

In other news, this is awesome!

The Jazzpush Video - Montage

All the non full parts but just as satisfying as one. Cody and Tristan have been around for a while now, with little footage to show over the last ten years. It's not their fault, they've always been skating for the right reasons, but in a small area like Slo, the camera is not always there. This site is a homage to Slo county skateboarding, the small fish in the small pond, and I feel someone needs to recognize it. That's why I had a great time filming them especially. Cody has been skating Baywood for the better part of twenty years now.

Then there are the younger guys like Jade who are tough to get in front of a lens. You know he's good, but he's either filming or doesn't want to be filmed. If you have the DVD, you can at least get a better glimpse in the bonus section, or just watch him in person. Jade's footage was a huge contribution to the video so either way, he was a great help. Berkeley was a late addition to the video and probably could of had a full part if we were filming a couple months prior. All the footage of Berkeley was in the span of about four different sessions. Look at his clothes, he's wearing the same thing in most of it.

Brendan was another who joined late in the project and I was super excited about it because of his natural skill. His short ends part is unbelievable, and for him, this is just something he does whenever he goes and skates. Isn't that the point though? Just going out and skating with friends?

Thanks to Barton Boris Bodrian for the band reference.
