Central Coast Chaos After Black

What you see here is the after black section of Central Coast Chaos by Newsense (2001). It's a long one but there are some serious diamonds in the rough. I sometimes wonder what happened to these characters who were once a staple of skating in Los Osos. Where is Choo Choo? Does he still use a hip pad? Did Scabs ever get to skate the pyramid after Tristan was done dancing on it? Will Mike Salmon ever have his rematch with the cardboard box?

Although these questions may never be answered, we at least have the memories of what was Newsense. Thanks to Kory Kroll for finding me a copy after five years of digging. Thanks to all the guys in this vid for having enough ethic to create something for themselves and to inspire others.

Watch Part 1 of Central Coast Chaos here!

No Homo, All Homie

Joel and I had a nice little morning session this week in 100 degree weather. It was a hot, sweaty, mess.

Boris the Spider

Once upon a time, Barton Boris Bodrian actually skated. He had a blonde mohawk, a silly earring, and did Gonz flips. Oh wait, he still has Gonz flips.

Mucho Pain, Mucho Gain

This is a screen grab from one of the hardest slams I've seen Daniel take yet. It spooked him pretty good, however, after a few minutes he shook it off and went for it again.

I've never seen him more relieved than when he landed this front grind.

September Jazzpick: Chad Tim Tim in 'A Time To Shine'

Although this may not be a "classic" part quite yet (2006), this has been my favorite video part since the first time I saw it. There are two things that particularly stand out to me in the part:
   1) The most stylish flat-ground nollie flip in the line at 1:31...so smoov!
   2) The insane switch line at the Belmont ledges starting at 2:53.
As far as I know, up until this year, Chad Tim Tim was the first person to grind the top ledge and the only to do it switch. So sit back, kick your feet up and start the month off right with this part.

Cheers!
