Life of Lethe: Doug Brewer

Frontside Bigspin

We recently ran into Doug Brewer, who was a Morro Bay local for a couple years before moving back to Arizona. When Doug lived here, I would see him destroy the wood Morro Bay park almost on a weekly basis. I remember watching him kickflip fifty the death ledge no problem, which is still beyond my comprehension, and this was probably in 2003.

Doug still rips and I wish we took him to a better spot, but at least you get a peek of what he is capable of.

the first push

These year old photos represent the first push. I basically had not skated in almost 8 months when this was shot and after a night of slappy grinds, I felt rejuvenated. Right then and there, we began thinking about starting some kind of skate zine for the Central Coast. Of course, others have thought about this, and the people at Realize got to it before us (and are doing a better job than what we could do) but this is simply just another outlet for skaters around here to get some coverage.

We're gonna work on some interviews, stories, video clips and more for the site and anybody can feel free to send whatever they want to us at jazzpush@yahoo.com and chances are we'll probably post it. So that's it! Enjoy the newly formed Jazz Push.
